Turmec CSER team is driving the switch from single use plastic throughout its operation this might seem like a small contribution, but the price of convenience piles up quickly and we recognise COP26 is a fantastic opportunity to get global, coordinated action on climate change
We are reducing our plastic pollution by replacing our single-use plastic items with alternatives. Listed below are some facts relating to single use plastic and how it makes an impact on the environment
- Plastic doesn't biodegrade - Plastic can take up to 450 years to fully degrade
- Marine life is diminishing - by 2050 it is estimated that there will be more plastic in our oceans (by weight) than fish
- Production isn't slowing down - World plastics production totalled around 335 million metric tonnes. That means roughly half the worlds annual plastic production is destined for single use product
